Rob, the only EFIS on the market installed in any flying
Lancair IV-P Turbine or Sentry is the CFS. BM hasn’t been
installed/tested/flown in a Lancair Turbine that I’m aware of. Lee’s
Sentry has a dual screen CFS installed and the only other test that has been
completed to that level was the Chelton against a Litef Laser-Ring gyro,
real-time, to gather comparison figures against the Crossbow 500 AHRS.
Lee’s Legacy that he races has a single-screen CFS installed which
records data as he rounds the pylons at Reno and then can retrieve after the
race to “see” his exact course line and “look” at all
engine parameters. Lee’s Lancair IV-P Turbine has conventional
instrumentation.
The BM gear was installed and tested in Lancair’s
company IV (N409L) which is the original factory prototype IV.
