Why don't we just give Jerry and others interested in BMA a break and trust
that they'll get very well acquainted with their EFIS before relying on it
to save their ass in IMC?

I recall when Gordon and Nate were first at Oshkosh back in the late 90's.
I was amazed at their product and still am.  I bought it then and wouldn't
think of trading it for anything.  But you know, they had to upgrade the
AHRS immediately and have done so again since.  What would I have done if
the LML or the LNN was full of this kind of rhetoric then?  What would have
been the outcome for SFS, now Chelton?  Would this kind of talk have
poisoned the public image such that these terrific young guys could not have
made it in the marketplace?

If BMA's EFIS is so bad that no one should fly with it, then so be it.  How
will we know that unless some unfortunate dreamers buy it and try it out?
We won't.  I'll bet that this product will not be the pariah that is
insinuated in many of the postings.  I'm betting that these guys will step
up to the plate when bugs are found and will continue to improve their
product as needed so that it will be a useful instrument for the middle to
low-end user.  I hope so.  There is enough interest and talk about it that
the cash flow may be positive enough for them to succeed if they have a good
product.  And if they fail, I hope someone else will bring a competing
product to the marketplace so that there will be choices.  I suspect that
Chelton is going to reap plenty of monetary reward with its fantastic
product and will not be threatened by a smaller player.

Hamid is wondering where the Mr. XXXX and Mr. YYYY's are who are alleged to
have the BMA EFIS.  I wonder also, but if and when they do exist, then the
LML will be full of postings by these guys either saying how horrible the
product is, that they really like it, or something in between.  I think we
can safely wait for that to happen before we try to submarine the
manufacturer.

My 2 cents.
