Without some support there it seems to me that the LE at that point would want to move around a bit, even though it's attached to the center section main spar both top and bottom. But that attachment is about 8" behind the LE and had me a bit concerned. In an effort to insure proper alignment between the outboard wing skin and the stub wing skin where they meet in that LE D-tube section, I have decided to install a pair of 4-BID lips which extend inboard from the inside of the outboard wing skin about 1/2" to the interior of the stub wing skin at the LE. These lips or ledges will provide support to the stub wing skin LE and provide a precise alignment with the outboard wing skins, and hopefully eliminate the need for a thick coating of micro to straighten out the potential misalignment. I'm curious, did I miss something, am I making myself needless extra work, or is this a genuine problem that I've actually never heard anyone mention before? (BTW, building the 4-BID ledges was actually very easy, I just made molds from some vertical grade formica which I contact cemented to the top & bottom outboard wing skin from about 1" behind the LE back to the spar that extended inboard about 3/4". I built inward to the thickness of the skin with 3 additional layers of formaica, put some release tape on them and had at it. The right wing lips will be cured up solid tomorrow morning, can't wait to see how it works out.)
