Dear Lancair builders,
Aug 8. 8am, my legacy N345MW, Kit150, departed at my controls at the small
airfield in Hohenems/Austria/Europe (Runway lenght 2000ft, Elevation
1350ft) for the first flight
The plane is powered with an IO550N with RAM Air scoop and the first flying
MT Prop, only developed for the Legacy.
After a smart start (see the attached television film) it climbed with 140
kt 2200ft. Level off in 6000 and a preset power setting 24"/2400, the
cruise at 24°C temp.
with that prop was TAS 245 kt without need of the RAM air scoop.
Controls were very harmonic and smooth. I did'nt need much trim help for
this flight.
The approach speed for this short runway was 85kt.
In the meantime I have flown 7 hours with 12 landings.
I have installed the Flap Control system from Missagia Electronic
Switzerland.
What I can tell you it is a very easy installing system. A small black
box controls the flaps with only one fingertip for each desired preset
position.
You don't need to look outside on the flap where they stand or on the
indicator at the panel until you reach the right position.
Each fingertip let you sure know that you have set the flap at right
position. A switch for automatic or manual operation mode on the panel is
installed when the elctronic should fail.
I don't would fly without this very helpful system.
