Looking at a discussion of the Sun 100 and the high speeds reported, it was determined that the Sun 100 race officials included a "turn factor" - Lancair did not do so in the Redmond 100 (or so).
Using the formulae in the "Aerodynamics for Navel Aviators", at 190 Kts a 60* banked turn from Madras to Sun River (166*) and thence to Redmond (171*) would add another 1.8 NM to the distance (not counting the start and finish turns) - For me, that meant 103 NM in 31:16 or 198 Kts (not 194) and 228 mph (not 223).
These are more in line with what I have been turning.

PS: for Al Campbell, the distance would have been 104.9 NM covered in 22:09 resulting in 284 Kts or 327 mph (assuming 60 * turns).
PPS: I hope the yukking stopped by the time you got here - Navel Aviators indeed......
