I have watch with some interest the discussion on
A/C systems. The discussion included two packaged systems and builders
using components to design their own systems. The differences between the
two packaged systems seem to be one is has a mechanically driven compressor and
an external scoop the other and electric driven compressor and no scoop.
There is third choice. This system has a mechanically driven compressor
and no external scoop. For the turbine there is a PTO provided to drive
the compressor. The evaporator does not protrude into the cabin overhead,
but resides on the aft bulkhead shelf. Anyone interested in looking at

Its nice to have choices.
