Rob,

>>what's the difference between "case mount"
and "boss=20 mount"

The Lycoming cases that don't have a mounting pad cast in = the bottom=20 of the case for the alternator bracket require the alternator bracket be = bolted=20 to the case halve bolts.  Hence the name "case mount".

The Lycoming cases that do have a flat mounting pad cast in = the=20 bottom of the case for the alternator bracket are drilled and tapped = ready=20 for a bracket to be bolted on.  Hence the name "boss = mount".

Obviously the brackets for each style are different.

My engine is a very early case, "case mount", so I made the=20 appropriate alternator brackets (I utilize the 40 amp alternator = model. =20 The 60 amp would not fit under my cowl anyway).

>>the non-blinking Nav lights (the red, green and white =
bulbs)=20 have to be accounted for separately.

I have the strobes and nav. lights each on separate = circuit=20 breaker switches.
