Where does it belong in the oil flow pattern, how it operates, where I can get one for my Lycoming engine? I have had a very difficult time with the low oil temps in my spammer during cool/cold wx ops. Winter kits, taping off the cooler, constant removal of the cowl and trying to guess the amount of cooler to leave exposed for that days flying are poor alternatives to what everyone but myself seems to take for granted with the installation of a "vernatherm". I would be happy to install it and go through the field approval process if this would help alleviate the problems. My oil temp hovers around 180 during winter ops and you can see the condensation of H20 on the dipstick after flight! I am changing oil much to frequently as I would rather the expense and time of oil changes than collecting the water inside the very expensive engine. In all my years involvement with many different types of industrial engines, I have never heard of a vernatherm, so yes I feel like I missed the boat, but I'm hoping that those of you with a little grin on your face as you read this will remember the "south park credo"..."there are no stupid questions...just stupid people." I don't really mind showing an occasional ignorance. Thanks to those of you that can take the time to formulate a response. You are welcome to email me direct or respond here if you feel this is a subject worthy of this excellent forum.... Regards....Jeffrey B. Chipetine
