I liked them OK, but when I found that Bose had lied to me about the Sun-n-Fun promotion (they told me they never made any special offers regarding purchase), and also that I could buy them for much less $$ at Sporty's and Aircraft Spruce, I sent them back to Bose. One drawback to the Bose in the Legacy is that it has sharp edges and is all metal on the two bows that connect the earpieces. At the very top of your head, where the bows come together there is a sharp angle with a metal hinge that will scratch the canopy. Second flaw: I noticed in the Bose that when I put my gear down the noise got unacceptable. The Bose would not cancel out the wind noise of the gear. I now have the Telex Stratus 50B headsets. This headset is quieter in my Legacy in passive mode than the Bose was in active mode. The Telex is so quiet in passive mode that I often forget to switch the ANR to the on position! It is, however a little heavier, about the same as my old David Clark headsets were. Not a big deal at all, I don't notice the weight except for when I first put it on......after a few minutes I forget it is there. And, no increase in noise when I put the gear down. The top bows on the Telex are covered with a soft leather so it will not scratch the canopy. My conclusions: The Bose X is unacceptable for the Legacy. There are only two places where the Telex Stratus 50B is sold with the Bose type plug, Lancair Avionics and Cirrus Aircraft. If you wire your aircraft without the Bose type plug, the headset is available almost anywhere. Cirrus does have an exclusive on color with this headset (it comes with an ugly purple insert in the ear cups, bright purple!). Cirrus sells it as an exclusive with a nice looking neutral grey color. That's who I ordered mine from, and they gave me a 10% discount when I ordered two. Better yet, they sent me two brand new purple ones to use until they get the grey ones.....how's that for service commitment? Good luck, but I suggest passing on the Bose headsets on eBay. I believe there may be many other better headsets, just don't get hung up on the light weight factor......they're lighter because they're not as good, in my humble opinion from having tried them compared to the Telex!
