Just a note to say thanks to all the organizers for the SFQ Fly-In!
Your efforts although mostly thwarted by weather don't go unappreciated.
Bill, Wayne, Bill, Ric, etc. Thank you all for planning the get
together.  Also, thanks to Lancair for all the Gedunk!  David and I
walked off with a new Lancair hat and Logo Shirt in exchange for our
journey.

It was indeed great to see at least a handful of fellow builders and to
talk airplane building.  Of particular enjoyment was meeting a couple of
Lancair guys I'd only known by email in the past.  Special thanks to Sue Harrelson who posed as dispatcher to help me turn
a prop out of there on Sat.  Indeed it's always nice to know someone who
can identify the local identifiers when evaluating scuddy weather.

As for my son David and I we managed to enjoy 14. 7 hours of
uninterupted CD's in the L360 for two days.  Our trip over was 7.2 from
Ft Worth around many Storms through Greenville, MS and just north of
Atlanta.  GLH (Greenville) is a fantastic stop featuring very affordable
fuel, an Air Force Museum, and a delicious catfish sandwich.  Top Notch!

The return leg on Saturday was a whopping 7.5 again around the south of
numerous thunderstorms.  We went Macon, Meridian, & Monroe on the way
home.  For the first two hours weather around the southerly route was
mostly 1000-2000 ft ceilings with visibilities in excess of 7 miles.  We
had to head basically straight south for quite a while and
circumnavigate numerous light showers.  Coming through MS, there was
forecast a nasty band of weather from New Orleans up North of
Hattiesburg.  We stopped 100 miles East of the weather and picked a very
thin spot to penetrate the rains at Meridian.  There were probably 15
miles of light rain with 5 mile vis, 4000 FT ceilings, and 10 kt surface
winds around Meridian.  As yet I've not looked at my leading edges to
see if the erosion got me.  I flew 120 kts IAS while in the rain.

The highlight of the trip home was dinner in Monroe, LA where we ate at
the Cypress Inn.  Shrimp Po-Boys and Boiled crawfish made for a happy
stomache on the last 1:40 leg over to Ft Worth.

SFQ is a definite great place to visit.  In the event of a reschedule,
I'd highly recommend going.  In the event that it doesn't work out, I'd
suggest that all who thought they were coming to the SFQ Fly-In enjoy
the AirVenture Cup.  It's a great fun race featuring numerous big name
folks, free fuel, food, and upfront parking at Oshkosh.
