After I changed to a smaller alternator my field breaker (5A) does not
'pop' any longer.  I have the B&C setup also and they suggested
measuring the field resistance wiring.  I've forgotten what it should be
but a call to them would give you a reference point.  I believe the
original alternator was simply drawing more than 5 amps when under a
large load.  I changed nothing else (ie wiring runs, comm radio etc).
With the larger alternator (a 90A unit), the field breaker would open
each time I pulled up the gear on climb out.  Earl
