Darryl Greenameyer successfully installed a Turbo'd 550 in a Legacy; however
this required MANY custom parts and the installation is far from optimum.
With spray water cooling and methanol / water ADI, the aircraft is the
fastest Legacy around and won last year's Reno Sport Class. Take away the
spray water and ADI, and the cooling is highly compromised along with
continuous cruise power. So Rick S. has a very good argument on his side
when he says that the supercharger is the better deal for a Legacy doing
cross country.
