Hi Gang,

Time for a little market research:

AirCrafters recently constructed a lightweight, high strength carbon fiber
window
frame for a Legacy.  The frame uses the stock Legacy side window and fits
tight enough that a
thin silicone gasket will prevent leaking.

The assembly is then attached with piano hinge on the upper and lower
interior
edges.  This feature
allows the window to hinge inward, up or down, or be completely removed.
Hinged from the
top, loading baggage is much easier through the window as opposed to lifting
and twisting over the seat back.

An added benefit is that the window can be quickly removed from the inside
should the canopy be unable to open.

Attached are a few detail pictures and one of me climbing out the
window--it's doable if not graceful.

I am considering making a batch of these frames for sale along with
directions for installation.  We're not taking orders yet but I'd like to
know how much interest there would be if the kit was priced at around $300
(it took about a week to fab the one we made).

Please send me an email if this is something you'd consider buying.  If it
makes sense I'll run off a batch.
