The plan we have worked out so far is to become ferry pilots for an
established Scottish ferry company. The company will put us on their
insurance for a fee. The official word is that we are ferrying the airplane
over for a sale, the sale falls through, and we ferry it back.

Just wondering if it is really a good idea going in this much detail on a public forum.  Think about the scenario:

You get the insurance pretending to be a ferry pilot, ferrying the plane for a fictitious sale.  At some point in the trip you have an accident and the insurance company is looking at a big settlement.  If they do any digging and come across your statement above, they could use that to deny your claim on the grounds that the insurance was obtained through misrepresentation and is hence void.

I know it is tempting to publicly announce our success when we are able to outsmart the system.  But keep in mind that the announcement can come back and bite us.
