I am close to installing my wheel cover for the mains and have a question on
required clearance.  I carried the 1/2" foam riser from the long area of the
gear door through a 90 degree bend out on to the large part of the door for
more support before installing my 4 bid carbon over that area.  With the
gear doors closed and the "up stops" temporarily in position about 1/2"
lower than "approximately level with the fuselage" as the manual calls, I
still have 1 1/4" clearance between the door and the tire.  With the
miniscule baggage compartment on the IVP, I would like to maximize the
baggage area by keeping the wheel cover as tight to the bottom as possible.
Is there any reason I need more than the 1 1/4" of clearance between the
tire and the gear door?  I can locate the "up stop" tighter to the gear box
member if need be to attain more clearance.
