Addmitedly I have in the past been a harsh critic but having now completed and flown our IV-P, N990Y, I am happy to say you have come up with what seems to me the best ever amateur built aircraft, or any other, for that matter. Coming from the ranks of certificated aircraft in the normal, utility and transport categories I had a bit of a transition problem getting into the homebuilt ranks. Sorry it took me so long to catch on... I am sure happy now! After flying off the required 25 hours with virtually no problems to speak of, we flew 90Y up to Redmond for avionics, paint and upholstery last Saturday. Two Lancair Fours left here at 8:30 am and one returned us here before 4:00pm. We goofed around the factory and had lunch over a two hour period. The trip up was 2.7 and the return trip was 2.6, all at low power. We flew in pressurized comfort at 16.5 and 17.5 and had a wonderful time. The utility of your design is outstanding. As Pat Bruenner commented "It is amazing we can buy a bunch of parts and end up with something like this". I am so far beyond impressed I can't find words. Thanks from all of us, Walter Dodson IV-P s/n 449 N990Y
