I think the secret to keeping the gear from hanging up on the doors is to make them torsionally as stiff as possible. To that end I floxed in a 3/4” 6061-T6 pipe and covered it with 4 BID carbon. I extended it as far as possible into the “paddle” end of the door since that is the location of the twisting load. The length is limited by the tire/wheel clearance. The 1/4” sliders are arranged so that the leg contacts the short slider before the wheel hits the door. When the gear is partially extended, the short slider “hands off” to the longer slider. They work great in flight with no “hangups” so far. I hope that this helps.
