Ed,

The only secret is temp.  Keep it above 70 deg F and you can bang on it
with a hammer.  I used the little Dremel Fiber reinforced cut off
wheels. (took to long should've used die grinder).  Then I beveled the
edge with my Makita 1" wide belt sander.  It made the glass lay down
real fine with no lumpy edge.

Warmer is better!  Hot wire?  Naw!
