With no intent to appear condescending, I congratulate you for your analysis and your conclusions. IMHO you did the right thing. I don't recall the exact figures, but the "TUC" (time of useful consciousness) at ambient pressure for FL250 is VERY short. At FL300, I think it's less than one minute.

I can most certainly empathize with you regarding the marital flak. My wife describes the term "pleasure flying" as the biggest oxymoron in the English language.
