It's been a while since I've looked at the manual so for all I know, this point may be covered there in minute detail.
In constructing the vertical stab ribs and in the process of closing the stab, be sure to drill small holes to allow for air expansion in the same manor required for the horizontal stab. It would be very easy to overlook this detail.
