I foolishly replaced my first B&C battery after 2 1/2 years for no good reason other than it was old. I think with this one, I will try to match your record. Five and one half (5 1/2) years in service is fabulous. Hopefully, it is not all luck but due to good products. I installed a Sky-Tec starter 9/2/2001 and have not had any problems with it. Did your problems start within the 2 year warranty period? Is the starter still in warranty? If so, I would definitely call them (800-476-7896) and get the OK to send it back for repair or replacement. Bob Jude - N65BJ
