This resin is fire resistant and self extinguishing. In fact when you read the manufacturers spec list, this particular resin is certified for watercraft up to XX ft. (I forget how long) by Lloyds of London to be insurable because of its properties. As far as heat, I've tried a sample with flame (outside with my organic chemical mask on) and it would not light. (Using a normal lighter) and I tried as suggested by a LML list member to remove some of the stuff with a heat gun and a scraper with no luck. No softening, no burning, nothing. My gel coat is made using the same resin. (The test piece was gel coated white, probably 8 x 10" and 4 or more plies thick.) I did this test after seeing the tail of a Glasair being burned off due to a lightening strike. Just FYI. -- Bart D.
