One of the early Lancair promo videos shows the flame test.  When the
torch is removed the flame goes out.

Regarding weave patterns showing.  My vertical surfaces show some weave
while the horizontal do not.  I flew for a year in primer (WLS) before
painting and assumed the horizontal surfaces got baked by the sun more
than did the vertical.
