Epoxy and polyester burn
equally as well unless they have been modified with bromine or similar
chemical. That is why I have made several recommendations on this list in
the past that an intumescent coating be used in areas that potential
areas of a fire. In my IVP both sides of the firewall are coated, as well
as the inside fuselage area from the instrument panel forward. Inside of
the cowling will also be coated.
