Bill, 

    I had the same problem with a KLX135.  The battery is available from Radio 
Shack (but not in their catalogue) for about $10.  Open up the unit and solder 
only 3 pins on the board. Be careful and save $190 and a trip.  It is in an 
experimental airplane
