I drilled two small holes, about .035 in the left tab, about 3/8" above
the bolt head, ran a U shaped piece of safety wire through from between
the tabs and secured it to a drilled head bolt to prevent rotation. no
problems after several years.

I would be reluctant to go to a larger bolt since that reduces the
remaining cross section in the aluminum drag link. You could drill out
each tab then epoxy a snug fitting steel shim ring into each tab.

Here is another question. What is the best lubricant for these steel on
aluminum bearings in a dirty environment?
