I heard somewhere that you can build up a slightly thickener  Hstab in the
counterweight area say about 3/16 inch above and below the counterweight and
the counterweight would not build up with ice.  If a corner of the
counterweight is in the airstream, it will collect ice.  Does the trailing
edge of the stab collect ice?  I am ignorant on this matter but if it works
you might have some elevator movement sufficient for a controlled landing.
Any comments?
