McMaster-Carr has a "style 4" zinc-plated Chrome alloy steel housing, chrome plated 52100 ball and Teflon lined race for a 1/4" bolt that is 3/8 inch wide with a 1/4-28 male thread for a static load of 5262 pounds ($15). The 1/4" male threaded part would keep 1/8" of link material left at the thinnest to each side of the hole in the link but I am bothered by the fine-thread pitch. That may not be enough to hold the pulling load or allow a helicoil insert?
Any comments?
