Scott if I'm reading this right, its the tabs [aluminum??] that are
elongating?? Or the links themselves? I

The tabs on the leg are steel.  The bolt holes thru the tabs are elongating.

If you look at the geometry, the gear is held up by the bolt thru the link (about a 1/2 inch wide) and then the tabs and thus subject to in flight vibration, the tremendous jerk against the gas-spring held over center lock when raising the gear and the uncompromised pounding it takes on landing and taxiing.  I don't know what material is used in the link, but it is very hard and does not seem to elongate at any of its pivots.  The steel used in the bolt is pretty hard too.  The tabs are of a more malleable steel and, over time, the pounding elongates the holes.  This leads to additional vibration and pounding and the deterioration is accelerated as the pivot gets looser and looser.

If a replacement were to be made, I can assure you that every safety concious LNC2 owner would buy it.
