A bug in the software or is there a programming function I don't know about? >From Jim Hergert; I have the MX 20 Chartview with the TCAD also, but I display the TCAD on my SFS only. The TCAD on the Sierra Flight System works perfectly and therefore I haven't bought the added software component ($1700.00) from UPS for the MX 20 that allows the TCAD to display. It could be that when you bought the Chartview option that the new UPS Compact flashcard either didn't have the TCAD option, or you have to go through the set up to turn it on even if you had it working with the old card. I think I like my MX20 with the Chartview but I say "I think" because I have had my share of issues with getting it working properly. After having my Chartview thru 5 data updates (one every 14 days) I made the unobvious error of Running the Data Downloader on my laptop, which can take 30 min., and at the same time Running Jepp Chartview, which is where you load the CD data into before you run Data Downloader (got it?). When running both at the same time my computer did a Hard Lock (Jepp tells me not to run at the same time), meaning that you must unplug and pull out the battery, if a laptop, then reboot and try to rerun the Data Loader. In my case that must have caused and error in the Compact flashcard and I couldn't get it to work or redownload. After many calls to UPS and Jepp they sent me a new card. This new card had a new version of UPS software on it and after doing the Jepp download it all seemed to work fine. However, on the last flight while flying along, up comes the Chartview menu with airports I don't have in the flight plan and don't need and I can't cancel it or use any other keys until I accept one of the airports on the menu and then it disappears and then I can operate the MX20 normally. UPS tells me that I am the only person that has these strange things happen. The said they would look into it and I haven't heard from them for over 2 weeks. I must say, that when it works, having the 8500 Charts on the little chip is way better then somewhere in the back seat. The screen is the very best also. I guess if we want all the computer things in our cockpit we will have to put up with all the computer problems also. FYI my Chartview cost $2000.00 form UPS then I paid Jeppesen $720.59 for JeppView Includes: USA West/Central "USEMX/M2" $689 first year and $594 each year after. Plus overnight Shipping. Full USA 48 $965 first year. From Jim Hergert;

I have the MX 20 Chartview with the TCAD also, but I display the TCAD on my SFS only.
