Hi Scott Krueger,

Attached is a spreadsheet that you can use for airspeed calibration. I got
the formula out of Sport Aviation from their series on flight testing. It is
not as sensitive to course as your method, and can be used for any three
ground track and airspeed pairs. Although, as you implied, the closer the
ground tracks are to 120 degrees apart, the more accurate will be your
results. I have not analyzed the method you presented to see whether or not
it is geometrically accurate, but I belive the formula used in the
spreadsheet to be sound.

I would be interested to hear whether your data, plugged into the attached
spreadsheet, gives the same result using both methods.

Have fun.

Regards,
Mike Hutchins
