I don't know how more explicit I can be in stating that I am playing the part of a sleazy salesman who will spin any situation with total disregard to the facts or the reality of the situation. The reality of the situation is that I personally have a pair of KX155's in my current Mooney. My previous Mooney had the same setup. I would not trade them for a Terra, even if the Terra came free.
That said, I have had recurring problems with the radios. But but they have all been traced to the tray/connector and not the radio itself. The installation was done 2 owners ago and left quite a bit to be desired in terms of quality. The upshot of my radio problems has been that I have learnt a lot from the poor installation and have implemented that knowledge in the design of the next generation of the Sierra Flight Systems tray & connector system. Only time will tell how successful we have been. The problem with making anything foolproof is that they are always coming up with smarter fools that can defeat any foolproof system.

Are you implying that us single people do not have to worry about the cost portion of the cost/bebefit analysis?
