I've got the Vision Micro Systems fuel probes in my LC20 with fuel in the
outboard bays.  The probes only go to the aileron bellcrank bay.  When I
calibrated the probes I was surprised that the probes measure all but about
the last 1/2 gallon of fuel in each tank.  Operationally, this is no problem
since the fuel gauge accuracy is really only important at the low end of the
scale when you're about to run out.  At this end of the scale they are very accurate.

I recommend that you save yourself a lot of trouble and don't extend the
probes all the way to the tip rib.
