On the same day Scott Kroeger wrote >>I ran a short cable thru the
"S" tube of the adjustable pedals and swaged eyelets at both ends.<<
(actually a repeat of a message of his on 13 Apr.2000.)
Would either of you gentlemen explain how you swaged the fittings on
the cable after it was threaded through the "S" tube. Aircraft Spruce
says the fittings must be installed with a rotary swaging tool, "which
is too costly for purchase by a homebuilder or small shop." ACS will
make custom cable assemblies, but if the fittings are swaged in place
first, the eyelet or clevis ends certainly won't go through the tube,
and I'm sure the turnbuckle end won't either.
This is a great idea, but I have problems with its implementation.
