Hi guys,
As you all know, one of the tenets that has guided the LML since I started it almost 5 years ago was that there would be no censorship. I guess that I need to modify that position a bit and bring it into line with some of the other List Posting Guidelines.... in the future I'll try to watch for inflammatory posts and head them back to the senders for editing. I suspect I'm probably opening a new can of worms here, but I'll do what I can to try and improve things in an effort to remove the resluctance of folks to post for fear of being flamed. The only problem I see with this is knowing just where to draw the line... I get the impression that there are some people on The List who are very sensitive to having their statements challenged, to the point that someone who disagrees with them is "flaming" them. Just to set the record straight, that is not the case.... what I perceive as a "flame" typically includes derogatory statements on a personal level that have nothing to do with the topic being discussed. Needless to say, I will not approve those kinds of posts for dissemination to The List at large. I _will_, however, approve posts that offer differing opinions as long as they are presented in a respectful manner. The receipt of constructive criticism is something we all should embrace, as it's much more expedient to learn from the mistakes of others than to make them all oneself.
Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to improve things for you, I'm always open to suggestions. Keep those posts coming........
