For Tom Byrnes -

I am about the same place building a IV-P.  I'm correcting a small list of problems after first taxi;  major problem - fixing leaks in pitot/static system.

Anyway, I have the same problem as you.  I have replaced the 5-inch rear door springs several times and changed their location once.  Yes, they will take a set;  especially if you stretch them too far when installing them.  Also, there was an additional problem because the factory kept sending me the smaller (4 inch??) dark spring used at the front of the door instead of the shiny 5 inch springs used at the rear of the door.   My solution -  I kept replacing the springs until I found a pair on each side that seem to work.  Please let me know if you come up with another solution to your problem.  Good Luck - Bill Hogarty L-IVP @ 96%
