Have you considered a bi-directional actuator like the ones typically used on car door locks /security systems? I was thinking I might try that. Push once for lock, once more for unlock. I would also disable the power to the actuator when the master switch was on as well as a redundant toggle switch elsewhere that should be switched off during start-up checklist and back on during shutdown. I also think a burglar alarm with a loud siren and a blinking LED on the glare-shield might protect our avionic better than a door lock. A serious thief will probably use a hammer on the canopy anyway. I know you are very knowledgeable on such things (I've seen your competition car audio photos...VERY NICE!). What's your take on this plan?
