Your concerns are well taken.  However, its just like any other plane
you are taught in..if you are going down, you open the door.  In this
case, you just make sure the handle is at least partially open.

[ the LNC4 baggage door lock on my LEG2 canopy can almost
be twisted by hand inside, but easily turns with a leatherman,
despite this I like Valin's design as it won't get wet
and freeze like mine undoubtedly will.
