FAR 21.182 says who must identify aircraft - experimental amateur built, incl kit must follow section 45.11
FAR 45.11 says aircraft must have etched fireproof id plate on the Fuselage behind the rearmost entry door. It must meet the requirements of section 45.13
FAR 45.13 For aircraft,
Sec. 45.13
Identification data.
(a) The identification required by Sec. 45.11 (a) and (b) shall include the following information:
(1) Builder's name.
(2) Model designation.
(3) Builder's serial number.
