The comments on sucking air with a "both tanks" selector are important
but on a long cross country (and 65 gallons in my wing tanks) I'd prefer
to have the wings self balance for a good part of the time. Landing or
taking off with low fuel I too would have that selector on the tank
having more fuel. On the Facet pumps there are two models that put out
30 gph. The lower pressure ones (2 1/2-4 psi) are MUCH quieter if you
are only using them as tranfer pumps and not engine feed.
Re: Upholstery-- I was reading with considerable concern the kind of numbers
that were flying around a few weeks ago about finishing costs. I went
shopping and looking at work locally and found that the shops
specializing in boat upholstery were doing great work and were very
eager for work in what is (here in BC) their slow season. The outrageous
cost for the complete interior, including double map pockets, cargo
covers etc etc $1100. Can.(thats ~$600.US these days :( ) I'll try and
post pictures for any doubters out there... It looks Great!
Control interference question- The front of my seat pans have been
raised almost 3/4 of an inch, the phenolic blocks and are correct, the
holes are in the 1 1/2 x 1 1/2" position as shown on the plans but the
stick linkage still hits the bottom of the seat pan. Did I miss an
advisory somewhere?
Thanks, Don
