I was not offended by J Trepicone's kind words to Mr. Perry.  I think I'd be sick if I'd put up his post showing what has to be a substantial investment and received such negative response from many knowledgeable, intelligent, and well spoken list members.  The good news is that throughout history projects that were deemed to be crazy while in process turned out to be great inventions or technological breakthroughs.  I too wish Mr. Perry luck in walking across the lake.

On an unrelated matter, as much as I would love to undertake building a IVPT, I don't think I could get it done and it would wind up being an ultimate shop queen.  At best, by the time I got finished I'd have gone through a couple of wives and be too old to fly it.  Could some of you experienced builders comment on the market value of your plane vs your investment in your project.  A perception that I have is that it is hard to recover hard costs let alone sweat equity, this being a result of the nature and limited size of the experimental aircraft market.

Thank you,
