Lee,
The difference is like night and day.  I flew over 400 hours on the
donuts before switching to the Spry shocks two years ago.  With the
donuts you could feel every imperfection in the runway/taxiway and every
landing had to be really good to feel smooth.  Now when I pull the plane
out of the hangar the airframe no longer  shudders passing over the door
tracks, but rather the wheel moves up and down absorbing the movement. The new shocks also provide an added margin of safety in that there is a
reduced risk of airframe damage during less than perfect landings. The
only draw back, if you can call it that, is that you can be a little
sloppier with your touch down and still make it feel like a greaser.

Has anybody flown with donuts in the mains and then switched to the
air/oil
shocks?  How much difference is there in the ride? <<<
