Dan,
   The box for my ES's insulation had to weigh over 40 lbs.  It's
ridiculous.  So far, I've done what Doug Johnson did by only doing the
firewall, exhaust tunnels and under the front floorboards.  I also bought
noise cancelling headsets.  I'll determine if I need more insulation after I
start flying, but before the interior goes in.
