Hank, I had this occur when, while troubleshooting a gear problem, I
replaced my very old style hi-pressure switch with the new ones now provided
by Lancair. With the new switch, the gear would retract in steps as you
describe - very disconcerting!

I put the old one back in (it only needed adjusting) and the gear would
retract normally in one swell foop.

Now I read (Scott's post) that all I needed to do was adjust the new switch.
