It has a bumpy, orange peel surface on one side and smooth on the back. Place the bumpy side down. It is just soft enough that it yields to the "pizza cutter" and gives perfect cuts. Use it also for your lay-up table surface, just remember to clean it off with acetone or whatever solvent you use (might want to test it first). After you finish your project, you might even be able to use the shower liner for what it was originally designed for. Tony Vaz
