About 5 years ago I bought a CellSet to install in my airplane. There are (at least) two things I don't like in my airplane, excess cordage in the cockpit and excess weight anywhere so when my Cell Set arrived the first thing I did was to take it apart. Well, Cell Set is not a software company but for their raw cost of goods they may as well be. Now I love free enterprise and I truly believe that someone should sell a product for a price dictated by the market BUT I also believe efficiencies are driven by competition.

Once I got my cell set open I realized that it consisted of a decoupling capacitor and a resistor voltage divider. The capacitor is a little special but the two resistors and the connectors can be had a Radio Shack for the price of a Big Mack. See the attached sketch. The polypropylene capacitor, and the rest of the parts, are available from DigiKey.

The charge and talk adapter shown is for a Motorola Flip Phone. You will need one to match your phone.
