I had a similar problem with my Comm 2 at the low end of the frequency range 118-120Mhz. I finally checked the VSWR of the #2 antenna and found it to be very high at low frequencies. Switching to a different brand antenna gave me better VSWR over the whole band. You may have a similar problem at the high end of the band. Chris Zavatson N91CZ 360std
