Can you describe in more detail the nature of the problem between the
alternator and the compass?

Is it the alternator, itself?  ON ? or OFF?  Or is it the wiring passing
near the compass?

Due you also have a B&C back up alternator installed?

I have the same problem  (using the same compass) due to the B&C Alternator.
I
have pinned it down to the B&C by pulling circuit breakers. Unfortunately
B&C
says "yeah, some of them will do that". That was pretty disappointing. I
have
ordered some magnetic field blocking material (MU metal didn't touch it),
and
will let you know the results.
