We're very interested in the Livelock Fasteners.
We've just started a IV-P. Well, we did the builder's assist in January
and the kit arrived at our garage earlier this month. So we're a ways
away from actually needing the fasteners. But anything that will more
securely fasten the cowl and allow a lot of removals with less
deterioration is something we'd be interested in. Like Stu said, "How
many are needed on a L-4 cowl?" We'd be willing to get involved in a
bulk purchase and a tool to send around. On the other hand, Brent Regan
may have some insight into the need for the special tool for the limited
number of installations we'd have on one plane.

How many are needed on a L-4 cowl?
Should the installation tool be purchased and shared?

Subject: [LML] LiveLock cowl fastener
I called Fairchild Fasteners in Simi Valley, CA to ask about price and
availability of the LiveLock CA 1810 base and the CA 1820-2 stud. I was told I would need a retainer for the stud and they sell for $3.50 ea in bags of 50 minimum order on that part. There is also an installation tool
required and I didn't bother asking the price on that as I didn't want to know.
They have stock on CA 1810 at $20 ea. There is no stock on the CA 1820-2 at
this time. They are sending one CA 1810 and one CA 1826-1C for
me to look at.
This will be a pricy bit of kit, tho as Brent says it is probably the best.
