My guess is that you lose about 5 kts but I use MMM tape because of a flight
in a condition of small ice crystals, falling like snow but acting like
sand, which took ALL the paint off my leading edges and was working on
grinding into the skin.  I had the same condition happen again after the
tape was on and there was no damage except to the cowling openings.
